#OS4: Nuno Felt Jackets from Hand-dyed Fibres and Fabrics

Difficulty: ADVANCED
On this exciting 4-day course students will use acid dyes to colour their fabrics and fibres in vibrant shades. A seamless jacket will then be created over a template made to their own measurements.They will be shown how to lay the fibres to give shaping to the garment. Two qualities of silk will be used and the contrasting textures of the ruched fabrics will result in a splendid jacket with a sumptuous surface. - 10-12 oz of 18.5 micron natural merino combed wool tops
- 2 1/2 yds natural silk chiffon 10mm 54"
- 2 1/2 yds natural silk habotai 5mm 54"
- 3 1/4 yards x 60" of bubble wrap
- Strong adhesive tape for sticking bubblewrap
- Thin plastic sheeting
Students Must Bring:
- Favourite felting soap,but not detergent
- Water sprinkler
- Plastic jug for dissolving soap
- Bucket or large bowl for soaking fibres
- 2-3 Large towels
- 1 yard+ Long roller
- yard stick
- Waterproof pen
- Pen
- pencil
- Tape measure
- Paper/notebook
- Dressmakers scissors (sharp)
- Sewing needle
- Bobbletop pins (glass-head pins)
- Sewing thread
- Hand carders (optional)
