#500: Nunofelted Tunic with Botanical Print.

by Olga Kazanskaya

Mon, Jun 18 – Wed, Jun 20 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Difficulty: INTERMEDIATE

Seminar Fee: $445

This 3-days class is dedicated to make a stylish, elegant, one-of-a-kind garment, dress or tunic with beautiful plant prints. Design and create a unique tunic in a classical or boho style with Olga Kazanskaya. We will start with the construction of a chic tunic, with some details as godet or draped pockets. Using standard dress making techniques, you will create a pattern that is tailored to your exact body shape. Then we will go to felting and will create a tunic/dress using a “sandwitch” technique: two layers of silk with one layer of wool in between. We will use the special thin silk from Uzbekistan. And then, we will add finest botanical patterns to our tunic, using natural plants as resist shapes and as a source of natural colorants (eucalyptus). During the dyeing, we have three-in-one processes running: resist dyeing, fixation of dyes, and a fulling of the felt. As a result, we have a very thin, but dense felt with unique prints.

A $80 material fee will be collected at the seminar. Please bring this amount with you to the event.
